No Way Out!

That one day everything became understood to me, and my friends. We understood why it happened and where it happened. We tried to abandon it,  but we couldn’t escape it.

Why did I even go to school that day? I was ill and my mum insisted on me staying at home. I had always listened to my mum and never usually dis-obeyed her, however i was a sucker for sport and the school’s sports day was being held. I knew I was not going to be at my best, but I still had a pretty good chance of winning the events. My school looked like any other. Plain boring colours, many stairs, a huge library and of course hundreds of children. Only on that day on sports day of course the number of children seemed reduced. Maybe they were ill and did what I should have done or maybe some were scared, but I remained ever so confident. On that day the events were going to be unbelievable. They had one-hundred to one-thousand-four-hundred meter runs and they had long jumps, high jumps, they had all types of jumps. Small or big they were going to be incredible. After break it was all going to liven up. Sports day would start and we’d be zooming away up and down the enormous sports hall. At break I met up with my friends. Christopher, who was tall, strong and brave but like me he was silly. Nathan on the other hand was worse than us both. Nathan always got into trouble for the dumbest of things, such as arguing with teachers and picking fights. Nathan never listened to anyone. I was more mature than them both, but I still managed to get into a heap of trouble. I’d pretend I had no clue on what I did, but i knew exactly what I was doing. I was also great at talking my self out of things. Me and my friends loved mysteries that’s all we talked about.

Off the pips rang and sports day was just getting started. Again the number of pupils seemed decreased, even more so than earlier this morning. Suddenly I began to feel Lethargic, my heart was racing faster than I could run. My eyes narrowed onto a strange figure on the bottom of the stairs besides the sports hall. Then almost instantly I awoke from what seemed like a dream. Maybe it was my fever kicking in ever so terribly, I was then called up by the headmaster, Mr. Calsoom to get to my lane to race.

“Can Christopher, Nathan, Jermain, Ali and Tiffany please head over to their lanes”. Tiffany was the fastest girl in the class . And by far the prettiest. She had amazing long, thick, light brown hair, hazel eyes and fair skinned. Tiffany is the girl of my dreams but I have to beat her in this 100 meter sprint. My eyes focused on the finish line after looking at the blood like AstroTurf on the running track. I was on lane three. A number familiar to me. I’ve moved houses three times. It was just me, my dad and my mum just the three of us. Three consoles, the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the Xbox One. And now lane three which only only seemed to influence the fact that I may had come third.

However fear could not over come me as I trotted over it, and then… the birds in the distant outside the sports hall began to fly off screaming in terror. Maybe someone had walked next to them. It was only the sound of the cap gun signifying the start of the race. I was blazing by just behind my good  friend Christopher, in third place the girl of my dreams Tiffany. My friend Nathan in lane 4 and Jermain in lane 2 were both missing. I looked to the side of the sports hall to see if I cold spot the but no pupils besides one or two were there. Something was strange. All the teachers seemed to stay put unlike my classmates. They were no where to be found. I began to think that the teachers could possibly be spies, however it didn’t seem that they’d be very good at disguising if i’d assumed they were. The teachers were very observing maybe that gave it away. They looked at everything and were determined to not blink for a couple of seconds. The strain in their eyes said so. The eyes wanted to shut but were forced open.

The race was still going on and some how I began observing my surroundings just like the teachers, doing so I dropped to third place. In other words I was last and Tiffany flew by Chris to snatch first place and that’s how this never ending race finally finish.

We all shook hands breathing ever so heavily. We began to chat and I started to believe that I was crazy or dreaming until, Christopher and Tiffany in perfect timing questioned, ” Where is Nathan and Jermaine?”

We all began telling each other what might have happened to them, but caught up in this chat the teachers seemed to follow Nathan’s foot steps and disappeared as well. This was like a zombie apocalypse and we were the only survivors, but of course we were inside a modern sports hall, which included artificial grass and AstroTurf. Chris and Tif came up with an idea. They suggested we all stayed together to search for the lost. We searched almost everywhere, but were stopped by a frightened scream. We rushed to the top floor where we had though the scream came from, but nothing seemed peculiar in fact every seemed normal.

Christopher then exclaimed, “look, over there” commanding us to turn.

He was pointing at something that glowed. And so we moved closer and closer until we could see what was glowing. A door. With nothing behind it, no room, nothing to explore just a plain old door, as it occurred to us at first.

Then another scream blasted through our ears. At that moment we all hid behind the same wall. We slowly crept closer, being more careful than before. We ever so gradually reached the door handle and all out once we pulled down and pushed.

There it was the thing I had never seen in my life lay right before me. There were three of them analysing my friends and teachers bodies. They were green and slimy and talked absolute nonsense. What we saw were aliens.

Now, huh I’m not back on Earth, in fact I’m still with Tiffany and we love each other so much. I wonder if I’ll ever go home. I’ve forgotten what my mother and father look like, but I’ve learnt to live with what I’ve have. Food, a girlfriend, a bed and a wonderful view of all the planets. This is where I live and this is where I’m unwillingly staying.
